More Awesome Skin!!

I’m a huge fan of exfoliating. Why spend bucks on serums, and creams if they lay on dull dead skin. I know, I’m repeating myself (refer to my prior post: 5/30).

Anyway, today’s topic is about my absolutely 2nd favorite; brighten your skin - product, a mineral mask. As a matter of fact it’s called Mineral Mask and it is produced by DHC a Japanese company (We DO need to talk about DHC – but, will save for later …)

Mineral Mask is one of those green, thick gooey creams that you smear all over your face. You walk around the house like a green hornet wana-be … no, more like a moldy zombie  … anyway (again)… when the product dries ya rinse it off.

We’ve all done these before, so why do I like this one soo much. Honestly, it does as advertised! It pulls out the deep down impurities … I’m not a clinician; but, every now and again, I do get a tiny blemish after using the mask. It’s pulling out the deeper yuck! In any case, my skin looks brighter!

My Routine:

Once every other week:  Dr. Denese Microdermabrasion –to get rid of the dead skin that dulls our natural beauty! 

On alternate weeks: Mineral Mask by DHC – for a deeper clean and pull up the deeper yuck.  Brilliant! What an awesome plan!!

And what are my results … am I drop dead gorgeous – of course not! But, I do believe – I’m at my best.

Finding Rapunzel - a journal

What the #$% has happened to my hair?!?! I never had the omstars, what gorgeous hair – hair. But!! I did have pretty hair. It was shiny with natural wave and, after I learned to let my hair be the boss of me, we got along fabulously!! I used quality products (not overly expensive); and was faithful with every 6 weeks getting a trim. Again, I’m average looking, but people often stopped me with compliments on the shine and bounce …
Then (dum da dum dum) all changed dramatically after a minor surgery (one year ago!). My hair dresser suggests my body put all its energy into healing! The shine GONE, the texture STRAW, to no avail - I used the smallest heat rollers and left them in for 30 minutes!!! The curl, wave, bounce GONE GONE GONE!!! I felt like Samson who lost his swagger when his locks were cut! The sass had left my step!!
But now (Ka Ching!) I call upon one of my Superpowers – being dad-burn-stubborn! I will solve this problem and toss my shinny locks once again. Mother always said: There is always a way to solve a problem – don’t give up!! As such, I’m on a mission to find my inner Rapunzel – (cuz, I just don’t relate to Samson).

BALTIMORE BLUES

I needed a break and Lippman delivered with this fun escape. The story line is uncomplicated yet challenging; most importantly, I adore this author’s humor. It is dry and understated. I’d reread passages because of her witty play with words. When I grow up, I wana write like her! Till then, I’m on to the next book.
This book is the first of a series. It is recommended that you start with Baltimore Blues; then, after meeting Tess Monaghan (the messed up, getting her life back together, main character), the other books can be read out of order.

Awesome Skin: Microdermabrasion by Dr. Denese

Dead Skin-- Disgusting! Especially on your face!!! This ProDuck is one of my absolute fav’s!! Microdermabrasion Cream by Dr. Denese.

I DO adore shopping and when too tired to hit the stores, I shop TV. As such, one late, cloudy night I channel surfed to QVC and saw this delicate blond with understated beauty. She is Dr. Denese and if her skin is a result of her product line – WOW!!

Anyway, after all the yada yada – where I heard about these wonder products that would turn me into the golden beauty on my screen – I decided to purchase the most important product – the microdermabrasion. After all, the dead skin has gotta go so the tonics, serums, moisturizers and other stuff I don’t understand, will work!

What an excellent decision!! I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!! The container is round and when open, it’s large enough to lay three fingers across the top. You’re supposed to wash your face first – but I’ve even used it on day old makeup (sh! Don’t tell). Then, in small circular movements, for two minutes, you gently rub tiny salt sized granules around your face. Last – rinse. (This is kinda hard because the granules are so tiny they get stuck in your wash cloth and hair line. So, I often rinse in the shower). The result is amazing!! My skin is very soft to the touch and my face drinks the tonics, serums and moisturizers – because it’s been liberated of dead skin (“Yuck!” said the Duck).

And what of my friends and non-friends … honestly, I receive comments like: You look great! … You look like you’ve had a good night sleep! …. You look healthy!!!

Now, to be really effective this product should be used weekly but, I admit to constantly postponing this simple procedure – AHH, but when I’m a good girl, folks DO notice.
